I'll back up what the others say about the switch to convert from grams to ounces. The other "feature" I like is that with the ring on the bottom, you can hang this scale up. The bowl won't stay on of course, but it's nice to clear up some shelf space.
This is my second Soehnle scale. I contacted the company because the battery life seemed short. They suggested I send it in, e-mailed me when they got it, and sent me a new one in two weeks -- and included the platform from my old scale that I could use on this one. I'd buy their products for the rest of my life based on this experience. I think this is why you want a premium kitchen instrument.
